New PC Not Working

Go to solution Solved by D3M0NV01D,

Just to update everyone, I’ll be sending the PC back to Build Redux for RMA. I appreciate everyone who took time to reply to this post!

Hello, I recently bought a prebuilt from Build Redux, and it’s not working correctly. I unboxed the PC, took the packaging out, checked the internal connections, connected my peripherals, turned it on, and black screen. Looking at the motherboard it had a white VGA light on, and after some research I started troubleshooting. Double checked the GPU cables, tried HDMI and DP, tried a different PCI-E slot, reseated the GPU, RAM, and CPU, all with no avail. I tried starting the PC with the GPU out and curiously the RGB on my keyboard started working, but if the GPU is in it doesn’t work. I get fans on the GPU when it’s plugged in but that’s about it. I’m stuck at this point and I’m not sure if it’s a bad GPU or some other issue. I do not have onboard graphics to see if it’ll post that way. Any help would be appreciated! This is my first desktop and I’m at the limit of my current knowledge.

ok when you buy a brand new prebuilt..... and it doesn't work...... you return it. it's brand new , it supposed to function. YOU don't have to fix it or figure it out at all. Just send it back and get a new one for free.

You bought a non functional PreBuilt, you shouldn't do anything as this can void warranty.

Contact Build Redux ASAP and ask for a RMA.

Welcome to the forums!
Contact customer support. Tell them what you did so they can skip chunks of the script Something is probably DOA. They'll fix it, and if they don't, you can definitely come back here and complain on the Sponsor Discussion forum (not sure if they're still a sponsor but can't hurt)

To those who have replied, thank you! I agree that I shouldn’t have to fix it and I’m currently waiting on them to reply to my support request, I will add that most of what I did to troubleshoot is on their support page in their guides!

Tell them what you did

I wouldn’t do that. As they might assume you are inexperienced and thus place the blame on you for breaking something. Just play dumb, say it doesn’t work and you didn’t touch it.

edit: somehow I missed last reply but yeah doing what webpage says is okay.

If someone can do all the stuff mentioned below, they can build their own PC, heck, reseating the GPU, RAM and CPU is not far off rebuilding it!

Not reasonable to expect a customer to do all that.

Not a question of what someone can or cannot do. When you buy a prebuilt and have this issue, just send it back without even taking off the glass panel.

Otherwise just build your own computer from scratch.
