Cables are harder than most people realise. Add to that all the global logistical and economic issues LMG has had to navigate this year, I'd guess cables may have gotten knocked down the priority rankings a little. It gets mentioned in the odd video from time to time, so still coming. Almost certainly "Soon™️"

Last update was 2 years ago. Consider it took them 3 years to do simple screwdriver and another 2 years to make it clear.

It was hardly a "simple" screwdriver, plus one of the largest delays was the factory screwing them over VERY late in the product development cycle.

In context, its simple compared to anything which has fire hazard potential.

it is extremely difficult to make a cable that is a firehazard these days, the parts to do it so wrong it goes on fire cost significantly more than just parts that work because of economy of scale.

like you could still do it but not in mass, or not in a viable price, ect.

the difficulty will be the opposite end. if you are trying to target the top 10% of the market (a cable that is marginally over the spec) then you will also have difficulty due to the same economy of scale. since the whole point is to make a "good" cable, they are going to have the absolute worst time trying to negotiate with manufacturers and sources, because the very core component, the cable, is not widely available on the market enough to sustain continuing production at their minuscule scale.

I'm wondering too.

But....  gauging from the replies, most likely PD cables, probably in the range of hundreds of watts capability too.
