Hi all!

I built a new PC recently and got new drives, and just started a nice, fresh PC! Feels nice! But one of my drives isn't showing up. I will attach details of the MOBO and SSD below, but the more I read the manual, the more my brain hurts! Can someone help with telling me tell if there is something I've missed, such as using certain SATA if using the m.2 lanes? I had that issue before on my old PC!

Mobo: Gigabyte b650 eagle ax

SSD: Samsung 980 500GB

C Drive is in M2A_CPU

RX7800 XT is in PCIEX1_1

The not-working SSD is in M2P_CPU

My 2 SATA drives are in SATA3 slots 2/3

MAYBE I FOUND IT?

The drive is a PCIe Gen 3.0 x4, NVMe 1.4 manual has this: So I need to move the drive down one?

Side note, do I need to do this? I didn't. I did use the top lane for the main drive with the thermal pad that was on the drive cover. But not the bottom 1. image.thumb.png.3a1ddd74390253a337aeab0f754b1518.png

Thank you all in advance!

Ow okay then....

I would try moving the drive down one. I would have thought that the drive would just run with a x2 connection in that slot, but maybe for some reason it can't.

In either case, M2C_SB would be better as it would give you double the bandwidth.

As for the rubber pad, as long as the drive is able to seat properly, it shouldn't be required.
