Hello,

I recently had to replace my motherboard after my old one died. When I first installed the new motherboard, I ran into an issue where the system wouldn’t power on immediately, I had to keep the PSU unplugged for some time, then plug it back in and press the power button multiple times before it would start. At that time a forum member suggested I reinstall Windows which solved the problem and the PC ran smoothly after that for around a week and half until it started again now.

Yesterday, I decided to reassemble the system (reinstalled the glass panel, PSU shroud, top dust filter, etc.). After putting everything back together, the same problem returned. The PC still boots eventually but I have to unplug the PSU for a while, plug it back in, and then press the power button several times before it powers on.

I have already tried re-plugging all the front panel connections at the bottom of the motherboard to make sure I didn’t mess with them during reassembly of the PSU shroud but that didn’t help.

One difference from the initial occurrence is that back then, whenever the PC finally powered on, Windows would boot as if it were a completely fresh install, all saved files would be gone, almost like a system rollback. This time, however, Windows is unaffected and my files are safe.

Also worth noting: the motherboard is getting power (the Ethernet light at the back is blinking), and I was able to charge my phone from the front panel Type-C connector.

Does anyone have any idea on what could be causing this or a possible solution?

why are you clicking the power button like that , press once

check the psu switch

also , have you done any sort of basic diagnostics like checking for bios updates or making sure you actually installed windows correctly

I have updated the bios to make it compatible with Ryzen 7000 and installed fresh windows.
