Hello, I have a question about Precision Boost Overdrive; my current system specs are:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X (16 cores, 32 threads, 3.4 GHz base, up to 4.9 GHz boost)
  • RAM: 128GB DDR4 HyperX 3200 MHz
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Elite X570 (AM4)
  • GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XTX
  • CPU Cooler: Gigabyte Aorus ATC800
The system is used primarily for gaming, with that in mind, should I enable PBO or just leave it on AUTO as it is?

    Thank you

Yeah, it can help eek out a few extra percent performance in games. You might as well.

As mentioned by @RONOTHAN##  PBO can help increase performance in games by few %.

Its a free toggle so might as well use it 🙂

I have PBO enabled on all my Ryzen CPU's.

PBO is something you should become familiar with, it is a powerful tool.

I use it to feed my CPU's moar power, and to get higher clocks, no matter the cost lol.

Most people don't use it that way, but to me that is the proper way.

You can turn a tame, cool running CPU into a fire breathing dragon.
