What to do after installing a GPU?

My brand new pc looks like this: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Abrojo/saved/#view=L7hndC So no GPU as of now, but I am getting one in a few weeks.
My question is about what should be done once it's installed. I've seen people say deleting drivers with DDU but that's usually when swapping from a Nvidia card to Radeon or the other way around. In this case it's just putting a gpu into an already running system. Anything I should consider? Thanks!

Just slap it in and download drivers; make sure to stress test the system. I typically run under load for 4-8 hours; 24-48 for anything that's mission critical.

I wouldn’t worry about drivers. Zero hour is right, slap that bad boy in, install the driver and stress it if desired.

 

hmm but don’t put a gpu into an already running system literally!! Haha. Sounds like something Linus might try for the fun of it

Kind of important too . I built a computer for a friend not so long ago, the system posted just fine but it was IMPOSSIBLE to get any video output from the GPU before updating to the latest drivers.

 

I have no idea if this is common, only happened once but I also only built 3 computers in my life.

No no Op specifically asked if he had to worry about uninstalling drivers prior.

 

that’s almost always never necessary.
