FPS dropsss ???

I installed a new cpu an i7-14700k  and ever since ive been experiencing frame drops only on cod6 though in all my other games like valorant, expedition 33, Dune awakening, my frames have been good but for some reason cod is the only one that drops frames. i lowered all my settings but it does the same thing it'll go from 160 fps down to 40. i updated all my drivers and before i had an i5-14600k and i didnt have this problem any tips on what i can do ?? i tried on fortnite too and does the same thing it'll drop fps  noticed my cpu and gpu spike down a lot too whenever im playing these games  image.png.2550873427e8681c53f9182e2049b77e.pngi

What are your temperatures idle and at load? Could be a thermal issue with COD specifically. I'd also check and see what Intel Default Profile is set in the Bios, if this board even has that as an option.

 

Also, just an FYI, the B660M DS3H DDR4 is a suboptimal board to pair with a 14700K, no overclocking, weak VRMs and power delivery, and there is a known issue of terrible performance on this specific board with the 14700K, 13700K, or higher end K series CPUs where E-cores have a tough time running properly. 

 

Even if it's a fixable issue without replacing the board, I'd still recommend going for a Z690 or Z790 series motherboard over the one you have.

My idle temps are really good around 30° c same with my gpu, so far it’s doing this one cod and Fortnite under load my cpu temp was around 40-58° and my gpu was around 60°
