My pc just all of a sudden started to lag and blackscreen, basically what happens is i launch for example my browser and it lags so much and my pc black screens on both my 2 screens and then after a couple of seconds the black screen goes away and the pc is fine and responsive however it can repeat again when i open another app or tab on my browser. This never happened to me before it only just started happening. I tried rolling back to an older driver and used DDU but that didnt fix it, running stress tests on my hardware run just fine even games as well.

Specs:

Windows 11 pro updated

Rtx 4090 576.80 driver

7950x3d

32gb ram 2x16 5600mhz

For now, I will try using a newer display port cable on my main monitor

It may not be what happened to your computer but I seen some recent Windows updates bork the Nvidia drivers and do things like you describe. I never reached the root cause but reinstalling Windows from scratch (and reinstalling all drivers) fixed the issue most of the time.

I don't know why Nvidia and Microsoft are fighting over who will make these GPUs more instable but this is the big reason why I recommend buying AMD or Intel GPUs.

Hope that helps.
