I booted up my tower today and recieved no display though the tower was running but not a single light (vga light etc) came on the motherboard. Oddly the computer sort of did a boot when it was still running (4 atempts with no display) by itself. After that all motherboard lights worked and windows came on but I get a bsod sometimes when running games or looking on Google and the error on the bsod says something about memory management error.

What is the computer or Motherboard Manufacturer?

Set the Bios to Defaults.

Go to the Manufacturers download site and do a Bios Upgrade.

Please click the "Thumbs Up" on any volunteer's post to thank them if they helped .(lower left, just to the right of My Computer )

this could be EVERYTHING from a bad cpu mount to faulty ram to a near death GPU

please post your full specs and then we can start to troubleshoot

Well my rtx 4080 super and i7 14700k are new so I dont see why it could be faulty but if they are asus and Intel will get shouted at if it is. Someone said it could possibly be the faulty psu.

"new" doesn't mean impossible to be damaged or faulty from the factory, bad batches happens on everything. Low rate, but never 0%

plug the cable into your motherboard port, boot to widows and check if your GPU is recognized correctly by windows.

for what matters it could be even drivers issues, i've shared you the link to a specific point in the thread but give a read to everything because it might be something similiar to your case:

you should bring your GPU to a friend's computer and test the GPU there, if it works on another PC it could be the motherboard pcie slot, then get back to your PC and change the pcie slot to check if it works

Spent £1200 on rtx 4080 super and this shouldn't happen. If it is then asus should be in serious shit for selling dodgy GPUs.

it's correct to state that it shouldn't happen but again, bad batches exists for everything, it's for sure under warranty so you can easly get it swapped

i undertand how frustrating this situation is, but warranty exists for this exact reason

Why? This is why warranties exist.

Asus warranties are awful. Could not get hold of them on my phone about my broken GPU and brought a new motherboard last year and had to rma it due to damaged pin in the CPU socket and they sent my motherboard back with no fix. I didn't receive a refund or a replacement. That tells you all about asus. Just because they're a popular brand they seem to not care about their components and only care about how much profit they make. Never should of got rid of my evga rig that had 0 problems.

I'm very annoyed and disgusted that this has happened to me 4 times with asus now.

Well gpu should be working since there is a red light that flashes on when I power on the psu. So its likely not the gpu but mostly asus trash motherboard (z790-H gaming wifi).

iirc red light flashing near the power connector means not enough power, if you have a beefy enouh PSU check if the power connectors are fully inserted

Ever since I did update to latest version this is what started issues so I downgraded the bios from version 3001 to 2801 and PC just became worst. No lights on motherboard when pressing the power button on the tower but the computer comes on. The fans don't spin either. Gpu lights rgb work and red light that flashes when switching the psu on means there is gpu life?

Asus thor 850 watt psu that is enough to power the entire system. It worked the system before with no issues.

The red light doesn't flash constantly (blinking) when I turn on the psu. It comes on once like for 3 seconds then goes off again meaning that their is sign of life to the gpu.

red blinkink light on GPU = Power issue.

this could be either that your cable is not correctly inserted in your PSU side or GPU side. Or most unlikely that you PSU is failing.

how old is that PSU? are you using an adapter to power the GPU? is this adapter from ASUS GPU or from the PSU?

Power supply is almost 2 years old. All cables were connected when I last checked. They make a click sound when they are slotted into the psu and gpu. Buts it is strange because the entire case fans ain't working so it has for to be the psu that one guy said on steam just by doing a bsod check on system properties when restarting the PC and getting no bsod.

if you're using an adapter make sure it's the one that came with the PSU and not the one from the GPU, if you're using the one that came with the PSU try the one that came with the GPU just for a test and see if that's the issue
