Bottleneck Problems

Hi

Pc spec:

RTX 4070 SUPER

Ryzen 7700x

32gb ram

Resolution: 1080p

 

Im having problems playing ark, came back to the game after a new dlc dropped, and its unplayable, as you can see on the printscreen, i barely get stable at 60 fps on epic settings, with low cpu usage and very high gpu usage, when i lower the settings to low, i can get to 100, with alot of fps drops and the same situation on the components

Looking at this i would say my cpu is bottlenecking me, but its weird because i dont get this problem in other titles, like elden ring, fh5, god of war and other such heavy games.

When i look up online i always see that the combo i have is great and its not normal to have bottleneck with this components. I read the same thing before building this pc, that it was one of the best combos, so its sad to see this happening. 

i would apreciate some help, its my first post on this site.

all PCs are always 100% bottlenecked.

Anyways with the new unreal update for survival ascended, 60fps seems exactly what I would expect at 1080p Epic from the benchmarks I have seen. 



Also calling 60 FPS unplayable... what.

So this issue never happens in any other game but it does in Ark and you think its a bottleneck instead of a game problem?

The 7700x and 4070 Super is a great pair   If any I would say that your GPU is the limiting factor in your build.

Is it a janky, stutter mess or is it just below 60 on the highest settings? If it's stuttering and it's just Ark then it could be a driver issue or just a problem with the game. If its just below 60 then you've already answered yourself:

I forgot to mention its ark survival evolved... the new aquatica dlc, not ark survival ascended.

and yes 60 fps its unplayable, if its stuttering and such things...

How you say that ya i look kinda stupid, but i was kinda hyped to play this dlc, and i see alot of people playing it, and i dont think everyone, even my friends, have top tier computers with the latest tech news, running the game well, and not complaining about perfomance... so thats why i thought it was more like a "my computer" problem...

A few minutes watching some user videos, this game seems to run like garbage across the board.

Theoretically yes, realistically not, unless you wanna say "engine limited" but that would actually be the opposite of "pc limited".

 

ie. There's a gazillion of games that will not bring a modern pc to its limits, not even close.

Sometimes it's just a badly optimized game. Blaming your pretty great HW isn't the best way to handle those.
