Unlikely at the moment. We are in the first third of this generation of cards so unlikely new gpu's come out. At best some slightly different versions like a nvidia super. Intel is the only one still expectes to release new cards in your budget this year.

If you have to buy now get the 7800xt its the best buy. Yes worse fsr but well it has better base performance

I'm planning to upgrade my RTX 2060 for 1080p 60hz gaming for the foreseeable future (GTA 6 fingers crossed), the options I have right now with the prices in my country are:

  • RX 9060 XT 16GB for 500$
  • RX 7800 XT for 540$
  • RTX 5060TI 16GB for 600$

Egypt has crazy tariffs so I don't think these prices are dropping anytime soon, the 4060ti for example is still 500$.

I think the best deal is the 7800xt but I'm afraid of the whole FSR 3 vs FSR 4 stuff.

Here is the best seller here if you can find me something better or compare prices, thanks in advance!

the 9060 doesn't look that bad, i own an RX 7800 XT at the moment and i can game really nice at over 120fps 1440p, if you plan to keep your GPU for long time the 9060 is probably the best choice though, i will never go nvidia

Why not just keep the 2060? Its still pretty good at 1080p gaming and gta 6 is years away.

The 7800xt is by FAR the best deal here.

But if this is buying a gpu for a game that doesnt even exist yet then dont

I'm just using GTA 6 as an example, I couldn't play Oblivion remastered, rest of games work fine but from low to medium.
Do you reckon it's best to wait then a few months for price drops or newer models?

i would wait for the actual specs needed because if you just want to play GTA6 and don't care much about resolution and details you might be able to play at 1080p medium with your 2060, if you want at least 1440p high/1080p ultra probably the 7800xt is the way to go, but keep in mind that you're buying an old GPU in the case of the 7800xt, if you can wait for the specs and save money you might be able to buy the 9070xt by the time GTA 6 launch

about oblivion it's weird that you can't play on your 2060, you should be able at low 1080p since it required as minimum a 1070ti iirc they are similiar in performances
