Im looking to build a small nas, I'm pretty set on getting the Beelink Me mini.

Now Im wondering which nvme drives to get?

I know the Beelink Me mini supports gen 3 drives but gen 4 drives will do ok. My main priority is reliability because I'm looking for a "Set & forget" approach

Okay, what is the use case here, cause if all you wanted was network attached storage you could just attach an Exos HDD to a Raspberry Pi 5 for maybe as little as 20% of the price and get roughly the same outcome.

(Keep in mind that 2.5Gb networking is about 10 times slower than a single gen 3 NVMe drive, so there really isn't much of an advantage to using NVMe storage in a NAS if your limited to 2.5Gb)

What do you actually want to be able to do?

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

Honestly, I'm planning on the Beelink mini to be a home assistant machine, plex server and family storage
