Is it possible to make a glow in the dark screwdriver? Or a marble like screwdriver, or or, a titanium screwdriver? A transparent screwdriver?

That would be cool!

Transparent has already been dunked by Linus on WAN Show multiple times. I would think glow-in-the-dark would have similar issues, with additional and eventual dulling. On the top of my memory, reason given was less than acceptable durability of material.

Titanium has same issue as with brass. Can be done, but would be really, really expensive. Just tooling. But also pure cost of material. (These numbers are from Google):

  • ABS plastic $2/kg
  • Brass $4/kg
  • Titanium $8/kg

E: Here's video where they discuss upcoming (I think still) aluminium screwdriver and why they don't probably ever do full brass version:

(TLDW: Weight)

With titanium, besides the tooling problematic (since its harder than aluminium or brass), is also problematic. Aluminium's density being 2.7g/cm3 where as titanium is 4.5g/cm3.

Here's also snipped of transparent screwdriver discussion

Little did we know that they would announce the clear screwdriver

In the video about the $269 gaming PC, Linus mentioned about the Transparent LTT screwdriver, and it's to come soon!
