i7 overclock problem.

Go to solution Solved by Wats,

let it go to 1.36. it's only an 18mv increase, verses a 60mv droop.

yes there are ways to make it 1.35 under load. one of them would be boost your vcore up to 1.4ish and adjust until the droop is 1.35...prolly not the best way to do it but ye.

I've been having problem trying to get my i7 930 to 4.2ghz, for  some weird reason I have my vcore set to 1.35 whenever I run prime95 my vcore would go down to 1.29. I then tried it with vdroop turn on and the vcore would got to 1.368. Turn vdroop off and it would go down to 1.29. Is there a way to make the vcore stay at 1.35? I know my CPU and motherboard is old (5 years old now), but I don't have the money to upgrade since I am starting college this summer. Any help on this would greatly be appreciated, thank you for your time.

try the medium/high setting in your bios for LLC

This motherboard is crap. Many feature such as load line calibration are very limited. The only opinion I have are Enabled, Disabled, or Auto, guess I'll have it Enabled. Also back when I first got the CPU I had it running 4.4ghz with a vcore at 1.4 and the load temp is around 75-80c now I have it running at 4ghz with a vcore of about 1.3 and the load temp is about 80-85c. Is this because the CPU is degrading or is because of my H60, I have reapplied thermal paste twice already and the temp decreased a little but not a lot. I forgot what thermal paste I used, my dad got it for me.

@h7779

welcome to the Linus Tech Tips forums!

last time you pulled the radiator out of case and cleaned the dust/debris from the

fins? usually a big culprit in thermal issues, especially over time.

Dirty_Corsair_H50_CPU_Cooler_by_MSTRFJD.

Thank you for the response, I'll do that tomorrow and hopefully I'll see the temperature go down significantly.
