Lossless scaling - Second GPU

I have an older system from 2017 with the following specs:

 

• Intel Core i7 8700k
• msi gtx 1080 gaming x oc 8gb
• Corsair RM850 psu

I was wondering if buying a second gpu and using it for the sole purpose of frame generation would be worth it. I can get another second hand GTX 1080.

 

Would the cpu bottleneck the added performance?

You are so much better off just selling the 1080 and getting a single better card.

 

Either way the 1080 sucks for this purpose. So no dont do it
