So I had this video show up in my feed and on a whim I looked it up and found that my 4 TB nvme WD black sn850x is supposed to be running 4K Sector size but it was using 512 should I switch the Sector size? The only thing I keep on the 4Tb is games. I'm just trying to learn more about it thank you in advance.

Probably not worth reformatting if you don't have any issues.

Do you mean cluster size of the filesystem? The hardware sector size of the drive can't be changed.

I can change it from 512 to 4K in the bios. The website says the nvme is supposed to be 4K but it is set to 512. The only thing I noticed is that my games have texture pop in in old games like Far Cry 5 and games like Overwatch 2 and Siege have slight stuttering and some 99% fps low dips down to 70fps from 200fps.

What board? Can you show that option in the bios?

I'd guess those issues are unreltaed, but try it if your curious.

rog strix x870 a gaming wifi. The option is called Asus Secure Erase. It can format it to 4K. In System Information it shows my drive as 512 which isn't its default speed as shown on the NVMe website. Just wondering if my game drive is working at a disadvantage.

This is probably a 4kn/512e drive.

I find it very unlikely that setting this wrong would cause noticeable issues in games.

Well with a 4080 Super, 7800X3D, 64gb of ram something in my machine is tanking my 1% low's in most games I even have a little frame sputter in Overwatch 2. Thought this may have something to do with it. My 1% fps would be up 200 and then tank to 70 before shooting back up almost every few minutes.
