Description of your issue: Dell support is freaking useless. I am the family tech support technician, and my aunt asked me to get some photos off of her old Dell Insparon machine, turns out it was BIOS locked. nobody knew the password, but we had all the info Dell needed for them to provide us with the BIOS password. I have done this exact thing in the past, yet this time, the laptop was a lot older. after spending about 1 1/2 hours on the phone with Dell support, they basically said "so we cant find the password, you will have to replace the motherboard, but oh wait, we have said this laptop is obsolete, so you will just have to get a new laptop"

 

 

Have you tried solving your issue through the brand's customer support channel? If so, what was the result?

They basically said get a new motherboard, because we have said the laptop is obsolete, and we have gotten rid of all the BIOS unlock master passwords for that laptop, so basically to replace the laptop, with no way to get the photos off of the machine. 

 

 

What would an ideal resolution of your issue look like?

Dell actually giving me the unlock password for the BIOS
