hey guys 

i recently aquired an aorus extreme 3080 so i decided to perform some basic maintenence. the card beforehand sat at 72c at 370w. i repasted with thermalright tfx and saw very minimal temp reduction, does anyone know why this is ?

That sounds pretty good and expected.

Very minimal reduction since it was already running perfectly fine.

 

Repasting isn't magic.

Those temperatures seem within expected tolerances for that much wattage usage. Repasting is really only necessary when the old paste has worn out. Repasting won't magically lower your temperatures from the factory.

The hotspot is usually between 5 and 15 degrees C over the GPU temperature
