okay so its not needed to have a headset mic for vr its a nice to have but not necessary a lapel mic maybe but prob not needed seeing as the quadcast can catch my voice from the center of the room

Then I'd get a proper headset to maximise sound enjoyment any of the modes I mentioned should work and at least they should be well under budget

I recently upgraded my setup thanks to the LTT community, now I want to get a new headset. The current one I have is a "HyperX Cloud Stinger Core Wireless DTS" by budget would be at a max of 200 euro about 230 USD i would like it to be wireless like these, but if there aren't any good ones, wired is fine. My day to day use case would be sound whoring in games like War Thunder and Apex Legends and just enjoying some music and yt videos. The reason I'm changing from these HyperX's is because they're falling apart...

Is a microphone a requirement? Asking cause you did say headset but from your usecase I am not 100% sure you need/will use it

if not I would suggest some proper headphones which will maximise your ability to uh

That. So smt like a sennheiser HD569, akg 361 or nth 100

Or if you need one (mic) there are 2 routes

1) A proper headphone pair and a seperate budget mic like a razer siren, an elgato wave neo or a fifine am8

2) An all in one like a logitech G pro X or a Razer Barracuda X

There is a middle ground of a good headset with a mic in the rode NTH 100M which is a proper good headset with a "gamer mic" ie one build in the headphones (detachable) but it is wired

I edit my posts for so if you saw a typo.... no you didn't, you are just crazy

I should also mention im fine with used items seeing as my old Quest 1 was used and so is my gpu and switch.

Used can vary quite a bit in headphones so ideally new is better

I have a HyperX Quadcast as my separate microphone which i use mainly unless im playing vr then switching to my headset mic i also use VM Banana since i have a scarlett solo and a guitar although the NTH does look very enticing for 130 euro.

That doesnt really answer my question cause you are giving conflitcting statements so let me rephrase it a lil

Is it needed that the headphones have a mic cause you use it for VR?Or is it not needed cause you have a seperate one for normal usage?

If you already have a mic then a "hidden" option is a lapel mic ie one of those small ones that clip on to you or specifically your clothes and cost like 30-50 euros (where I reside at least)
