Just wondering if someone has had the same issue as me.

My main game is Counter-Strike 2 and no issues there no lag or nothing getting around 360Fps there

but when I go play other games for example Icarus, i'm playing with avg around maybe 80-90fps capped at 100fps with everything in High in settings and getting these annoying small lag spikes, I have tried a few things to fix it but nothing seems to do the trick

Have heard about the 1% lows which could be the problem for me, but yeah atm i can play the game really smooth with these occasionally lag spikes in between but they are soooo annoying when you play

1. Do you have MSI afterburner installed? there is an issue with "GPU Power" monitoring setting that causes lag spikes and low 1% FPS
2. Watch your RAM and VRAM usage while gaming, if either of them are going above ~95% usage, then will probably be  the issue
3. Try using the new Nvidia statistics monitor, added by the Nvidia app. It still uses the ALT+Z shortcut, configure that to show advanced statis about your GPU/VRAM usgae, FPS, 1% FPS, and anything that would seem relevant

4. I've heard that going above 97% GPU usage, regardless of how fast, or how much extra VRAM/RAM you have still reduce 1% lows and make it feel less smooth. For the most smooth gameplay, avoid going above 97% GPU utilization

5. according to Wikipedia, Icarus uses Unreal 4, I don't know much about that engine, but I do know that Unreal 5 is known to have these issues and there's nothing you as a consumer can do about it. Might also apply to UE4, but I don't know

14900K, RTX 5090 (360mm AiO), 64GB RAM, 4K 144Hz OLED

So i´ve tried running without afterburner same issue.

My Ram is around 88-90% Usage (9501Mhz in the nvidia app)

I tried Using the Nvidia Statistics Monitor and same issue but i can see the 1% lows now. So running around (Avg Fps 70) (1%Lows 22fps)  standing still (avg Fps 90 ) (1%lows 70) the 1% is not consistently in the low end when running sometimes it goes up to 50FPS even sometimes 60FPS

But my GPU still keeps going over 97% anywhere were i could Cap that or ? haha

So it could then either be the GPU Workload or maybe even Unreal Engine ?

Seems its common with this game and lots of users report the issue.

Another thing is that it seem that if you have newer nvidia drivers (newer than december) game runs badly. Nvidias had lots of driver issues so try downgrading to a much older one.

Also check whilst gaming in msi afterburner if you are out of vram seems this game chugs vram lots and has a bit of a bug with it.
