is there any main diference between ips display and a normal one like lcd or led ?

IPS is a screen technology. LED and LCD are the same but they're lit differently.

LED is a type of backlighting, pretty much all displays are LCD with the exception of projectors and plasma

In the simplest terms I can think of IPS is just a way of arranging the pixels to provide wider viewing angles and more accurate colour reproduction

You are getting mixed up.

The IPS is the technology which is build upon an LCD display and LED is a type of backlighting to an LCD display.

The other most common types of panel displays are: TN (good for gaming, good for single monitor set ups as the viewing angles are bad), IPS (decent for gaming but not competitive as it has more input lag, better colour reproduction than TN monitors), VA ( a combination of TN and IPS) and IGZO and AHAP (a combination of TN and IPS, better than VA).

i dont need wider angle of view so ill be better of a lcd

Think of LED/LCD as the foundation. Then there's the panel (TN, VA, PLS, IPS etc...) that are lit by the LEDs/LCDs behind the panel.

you are wrong too.

LCD is the type of screen (not crt or plasma)

Back lighting is either LED OR COLD CATHODE.

Panel types are IPS, PLS, VA, IGZO, TN.

Come on, I wasn't even that off. I didn't do that bad either, considering I don't read too much into monitors.

Come on, I wasn't even that off.

Your foundation was wrong, ergo you were wrong ;)

Op. Pretty much all screens these days are LCD as they employ liquid crystal technology to change the colour and brightness of individual pixels.

Then you have different panel types, IPS gaving great colours but being relatively slow, TN being garbage at colour and view angles but can go balls fast.

Then you have different backlighting such as cold cathode which isnt really power efficient and results in less than good contrast. Then you have led which has better contrast numbers and uses less power.

Then you have different backlighting power modes. You have pwm which is what most monitors use and if you are sensitive can induce headaches. And you have dc power which doesnt have that problem but isnt used much

I really love the va colors, but would you even consider buying VA for gaming? or IPS all the way?

after being on ips, evem for gaming it wouldt get anything else. I rather have a led dc 1080p ips than a 4k anything
