Updated "Used GPU Tier List"?

I've been tasked by a friend to build a very budget PC for their kid so that they can game.

I'm trying to get the best I can second hand where appropriate, and looking for some advice for what to look out for.

I've just watched the "How to Build the Ultimate $69 Gaming PC!" video and they mentioned the "USED GPU tier list and ramblings" thread. I was wondering if there was a more up-to-date version of this?

They aren't playing AAA games. Looking for something along the lines of RX570, RX580, 5500XT, 1650 Super or similar. Then combinging with an approriate CPU.

I've got a spare NVMe drive that I can throw in for them.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

If you do a search on TPU's GPU database for e.g. RX 570, then they give a (relative) performance % for your chosen card, versus the other cards.

That depends entirely on used market and budget. What can you find?

 

GTX 900 series? 10-series GTX? 5000 and 6000 series AMD? 16 series GTX? RTX 3050? Arc A770? RTX 20 series?

Of course, in your budget range.

 

How budget is the PC? Would AM4 system with something like 3600 B450/B550 + DDR4 RAM be up? Or something even cheaper? Like Intel 8000/9000 series?

How budget and demanding is the whole build? Would a Ryzen AM4 CPU with beefy iGPU work? Like 5600G/5700G? That way you could skip GPU and then get it later eventually.

It's for a single mum trying to get a machine for her lad, so as cheap as possible without compromising ideally.
