Hotspot Shield reduced functionality

I bought Hot Spot Shield with Linus promo code about a month ago.  The 3.41 revision of Hot Spot Shield contained 3 basic modes of functionality off/ proxy no encryption/ proxy with encryption.  The encryption bothers some sites and processes so it was sometimes convenient to use proxy with no encryption, However the 3.42 revision just released only has Protection on or off.  It is not possible to use proxy with no encryption, I feel cheated about this loss of functionality possibly someone has the answers as too why they would do this?

only good thing about Hot Spot Shield is the free trial, the actual product is not very good compared to much of the competition such as Privateinternetaccess

most of the sites i use  don't work when hotspot shield is on which is annoying ,but is does stop my isp from shaping my downloads.
