Hello!

I have a 5700x3d that is cooled by a Peerless Assassin 120 SE, and I had to remove one of the fans in the PA120 for it to fit correctly.

The temps seem to be unphased generally but theres strange fluctuations every now and then (attached picture).

Is this alright or should I do something about this?

Any advice is appreciated 😄

X3d chips have the 3d V-cache die on top of the normal CCD chips (the actual cores). first and second gen x3d chips normally run hot, and realistically as long as your temps are under like 90c you're fine.

if you're really worried you could try to do a custom fan curve or just fully power the fans if you don't mind extra sound to see if that causes the temps to flatten out

Btw the lows are about 38-39 degrees and the highs are about 55 degrees

If this is "weird" what exactly did you expect?

The only potential issue I'm seeing here is that it's not hot enough, but you probably just didn't put it under any serious load yet.

I forgot to tell you but this is idle temps of course, and this is with literally only HWinfo open. Just found it strange that it jumps 15 degrees randomly when not doing anything.

Ah, no that's entirely normal, it would be strange if it didn't do that. Just how Ryzen works since forever.
