Maybe the sag caused things to slightly shift/twist over time. When removed it now causes the cooler to no longer make proper contact? Would be my hypothesis at least.

But still im kinda bothered about the sag. Only the power connector is holding the gpu.  Is that fine?

What's the antisag stuff looking like ? It may be because of how/where you've placed it, or maybe another type of mount would work better (some are just sticks, others have "forks"...)

the free and no-brainer solution is to lay the case on its side so the mobo is laying horizontal and the gpu is oriented vertically, the way these components were originally designed to be installed.

(I duck and cover in anticipation of the responses I'm gonna get)

Never understood why tower cases have dominated when they are literally the wrong orientation based on the design of the hardware.

Tower cases were originally used for small server applications (80's-early 90's) because you didn't need a 6 pound GPU and 3 pound cpu heatsink and you could pack a lot of hard drives into them.

Never intended to replace desktop design for average users.

All my systems have been "desktop" orientation for over 25 years and I've never had any issues with sagging GPU's, warped MOBO's, etc.

I have a ROG Strix GTX 1060 6gb btw.

And why does this gpu need a "sag mount"?

Here's a much larger 3070, there's no sag...?

Here's a video that may help, because I'm pretty sure a 1060 doesn't need a "sag mount"
