I have two computers that I’m looking to upgrade and need some GPU advice.
First computer is my sim rig 4K gaming setup. It has a 5800x3d with a 3070ti.
My 2nd is a more budget general gaming (1440p ultrawide) used by the family for things like the sims, anno 1800, planet coaster etc.  it has a 5700x3d with an AMD 6700 (non xt) gpu.

My original plan was to get a 9070xt to replace the 6700 and a 5070ti to replace the 3070ti.
I have bought a 9070xt and it’s running great in the general computer.
5070ti’s can be had for $1509aud.  I did have a thought. Maybe I’m better off getting a 5060ti 16gb (about $850) for the general computer and put the 9070xt in the sim rig.
My thoughts are I need a bit more power for the general computer but not heaps. The sim rig is struggling on 8gb though. One issue is the general computer has a B450 board with PCIe 3x slot. I’m not sure if this would be an issue on the 5060ti as it’s only by 8 connection.
What’s your thoughts?

Also could have bought two 9070 XTs, or 9070 for others and 9070 XT for you.

Well, you could also look at last gen upgrades if they're cheaper, instead of PCIe 5.0 card get PCIe 4.0 card for PC with PCIe 3.0.

But even then, 5060Ti is not 5090, so the bandwidth of PCIe 5.0 isn't even required for almost low-end card.

38%+ upgrade from RX 6700 is already: 7700 XT+, RTX 4070+, RX 6800 XT+, RTX 3080+

Feel free: To ask any question, no matter what question it is, I will try to answer. I know a lot about PCs but not everything.

current PC:

Ryzen 5 5600 |16GB DDR4 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1080 ti [further details on my profile]

PC configs I used before:

  1. Pentium G4500 | 4GB/8GB DDR4 2133Mhz | H110 | GTX 1050
  2. Ryzen 3 1200 3,5Ghz / OC:4Ghz | 8GB DDR4 2133Mhz / 16GB 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1050
  3. Ryzen 3 1200 3,5Ghz | 16GB 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1080 ti

There's also the 7800XT, lots of VRAM, faster than 5060TI and cheaper at A$750

I'd get that for my son's birthday in one month to upgrade from his 2070
