Hey a couple of times I've tried sending a merch message with a gift card. The gift card goes through but the message doesn't go through. So I have to buy another gift card and it works

They're not going to show every single Merch message on the bottom of the screen. Otherwise the show would run for several hours.

The point of Merch Message was to avoid people throwing money at the screen for no reason. If your message doesn't get a shoutout, then you're at least getting a gift card in return.
