Hi guys,

I'm not too knowledgeable with network stuff, so I thought I'd come on here to ask this. Currently, I have 1 GB of internet speed for my house, and I'm running a cable from my modem/router all the way to my room. I then attach it to a wall-mounted Ethernet port. This routes to my Google Wifi router (link to router) then with the ethernet out port it has it routes to my PC. My question it should I attach Netgear switch (link to switch) before the Google Wifi router and have the router be attached to one of the switch ports. Or connect the switch after the router and attach it to the output port, then connect my devices to the switch. I hope this makes sense. If you have any better ideas, let me know. I want to get the best speeds out of this. Also, I'd like to attach a Nintendo Switch to this setup, which is why I'm doing this.

Is your modem doing the routing/dhcp or is the Google wifi device? One should be set to bridge mode.

So, my modem setup looks like this. I have a Netgear CM1100 that connects to a Netgear GS105, which then splits into my TV, Roku (I think), Google Wi-Fi router (I have four at home, two of which are connected via Ethernet), and the cable that runs to my room. I made something that can help see this visually hope this helps. I hope this answers your questions, I don't know if any are set to bridge mode and I believe the modem does the routing/dhcp but correct me if I'm wrong
