I use Corsair and Noctua fans and have had to replace them a few times. What other fans would you recommend other than Corsair and Noctua that have good airflow and are somewhat cheap?

my reddit post on buildapc that got ignored that might answer some questions: http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/272psq/replacing_grinding_fans/

Wait, you're consistently having problems with NOCTUA fans making grinding noise? That's damn near impossible. They're some of the best fans out there, frequently recommended for silent builds! I mean they's ugly, but really well made.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

Well honestly they have like a 5-6 year warranty, why not just get them replaced? It' possible you got a bad batch or something.

I have replaced them with warranty and I must have horrible luck if I get a bad batch every single time I'v bought them

Well just as that other guy said noiseblocker blacksilent pros, I always recommend them and have than myself they are brilliant. I'd say replace the corsair fans aswell.

Anything under $20? because I need to buy about 5 of these. And preferably on amazon because I have gift cards

I just copied and pasted this from another post I made, these are generally the only fans I ever recomend as anything below these I deem as inadequate.

But first, as ever noctua you've ever had has this weird noise you sure your mounting it correctly? Or something isn't touching the blades?

Because no offence but if they are repeatedly making this noise, you must be doing something wrong.

Fans I reccomend in order of best -----> least beat

Gentle typhoons

Noctua anything/noiseblocker E-loops

Noiseblocker blacksilent pros

Silverstone air penetrators

Be quiet! Silent wings 2

Rosewell hyperborea's

Gelid wings

Be quiet! shadow wings

Bitfenix spectre pros

Scythe glide stream

Aerocool DS

Noiseblocker and Be Quiet! are the best options other than Noctua. I have to say though if you have had several Noctua fans fail on you I would suspect you are doing something wrong with them.

I don't think I do anything wrong with my fans. All I do is screw them in and turn on my computer

What if it's another component making the noise?

It isn't. I turned off the fans and it would stop

If I were you I would buy the cheapest fan I could find like £2 or something and replace it with one of the noctua's, then if it makes the noise still you know you are doing something wrong, and if it stops you are just the unluckiest noctua customer in history. Just something I would do before spending $100 on more fans

I'll try switching the fans from my mom's computer before I buy them. But I don't know what I would be doing wrong if I am doing something wrong

Dust problem?

I'd look at any silverstone fans but I haven't tried thee silent series. I also haven't compared them against noctuas because why buy £20 fans when £4 ones do the job

I just wiped my fans and didn't see dust on them so I don't think that is the problem

in terms of noise/air moved, I think hyperborea + nb-eloops are a bit better than the noctuas. ( E loops definitely are, but they're quite expensive and have issues being mounted in pull sometimes)

Hyperborea / apache blacks are crazy quiet.
