I have a window directly behind me we sitting at my desk. Ive noticed a bit of a glare on my screen, it's not as bad due to the screen being a matte display. But I also noticed a glare on my TV.

Glare is mostly visible on darker scenes

What I wanted to know does anyone have an experience with frosted glass privacy films for windows? Like I want to stop the glare, but still let some natural light in to the room. The curtains I use doing the summer are very see thru, and let a lot of natural light thru. Another goal is the window in question faces East, so it does get directly sun light in the evening. So Im also maybe looking at something that can block some of the heat part of the sun if possible.

The privacy film I was looking at:

Also open to suggestions.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

They diffuse but don't stop glare no. I think in your case you want some uv window foil + some simple see through light diffusion curtains. Window frosting helps a little bit with heat but not a lot.

The nice thing about decent uv foil is that it works in a sort of gradient. The more intense the sun the more it blocks. It makes the light level in a room quite consistent. Whilst also always allowing at least a minimum through. It's neat stuff bit pricey but man was that THE correct investment for me. I do have some diffusion curtains added behind it and since then minimal glare, can look through the window and heat is SEVERELY reduced. Of course I do still notice if there is direct sun behind me as the screens are less bright but now it's well beyond usable in all ways. My roof window is btw almost dead south facing and I sit with my back to it :p.
