I encountered a problem using the graphics card's DP output and connecting the DP cable to the monitor. When I use the graphics card's DP output and set the monitor's refresh rate to 180 Hz and open the game, the monitor screen goes black, and resetting the graphics card drivers does not solve the problem.

The only way is to disconnect and reconnect the DP cable from the graphics card output, after a second the image returns and goes black again. I also tried cleaning the graphics card's DP output and updated the graphics card drivers to the latest version, but the same problem occurs again. However, if I use a 120Hz refresh rate with the same DP output, the possibility of the image going black while playing games is reduced But as soon as the graphics card's power consumption increases, the same problem occurs. The only way that has worked so far is to use the graphics card's HDMI output and set the refresh rate to 120 Hz.

how can i fix this problem? currently using the 10 year old Rx 580 in my rig but i also placed a order for a newer Rx 9070xt. im pretty certain that the older gpu is the reason maybe its hard for it to function at 1440p 180hz

Have you tried replacing the DP cable?

also tried using the hdmi output at 144 Hz but same thing happened.
