I've recently upgraded from a 3070ti to a 5080 but now I'm getting constant crashing. Putting any load on the GPU will crash the system. Since upgrading even windows and my BIOS is super sluggish. If I leave the system running for about a minute my screens will go black, with the system still on. Going back to my old GPU or even using integrated graphics resolves all these issues. My specs:

  • i9-10850k
  • Gigabyte Z490 UD AC Motherboard
  • Corsair RM1000x 1000W
  • 32gb corsair vengeance RAM

What I've tried:

  • Flashed my bios to the latest version
  • Updating drivers to latest
  • Rolling drivers back to 572.16 (meant to be more stable)
  • Using DDU before new driver installs
  • Fresh windows reinstall

One thing I have found is forcing the PCIe lane to run at gen 2 fixes these issues (but obviously runs much slower).

I'm out of ideas at this point. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Is this the newer version with native 3.1 support or the older one?

This is the new version with 3.1. Buy the Corsair RM1000x 1000W ATX 3.1 Power Supply Cybenetics Gold Certified -... ( CP-9020271-AU ) online - PBTech.co.nz

Hi there! I have the same issue with a configuration that's almost identical.

  • i9-10900k
  • Gigabyte Z490 UD AC Motherboard
  • Coolermaster 750w gold
  • 32gb corsair vengeance RAM
  • Palit 5070

Everything is fine without the GPU, but with the 5070, the BIOS is sluggish and goes blank at any time. So, we can rule out Windows because I lose the signal even in BIOS.

Did you find a solution to this problem? Do you know what's happening?

Maybe there's some kind of incompatibility between the Z490 motherboard and the 5070?
