  • New build or upgrade? Upgrade

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links) https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/z8TVZc built back in 2017 as my first pc

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games) Gaming on main odyssey screen with a youtube/twitch on a side screen and discord/emails on the 3rd

  • Purchase country? Uk based but no preference on shop or site

  • Monitors needed? not needed but have an odyssey g9 with 2 zowie side monitors would like to be able to run the odyssey at the full 240hz if possible

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations) id like to reuse some components like the storage and power supply if recommended but i know I need to spend a bit on a gpu so somewhere in 1500 to 2000 range is probably realistic but have no idea

  • WiFi or wired connection? wired is fine

  • Size/noise constraints? yes must go in current case listed in existing parts as it sits as part of a custom built furniture arrangement

  • Color/lighting preferences? not particular but does have glass panels so RGB is cool but not essential

I posted the above in a forum in r/buildapcforme and have been recommended https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/KQGtHW but I'm wanting a second opinion ideally?

any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Sure, but add a bit to the budget as the 5080 has VAT and may not really be available at that price when you try to buy it.

You'll need the AM4/AM5 bracket from your AIO for the new setup.

I THINK the 5080 can run on a 750w PSU, but if you're staying budget and get a 5070Ti you're fine.

Looks like a good upgrade, but you can also go with a 7800X3D or even a 9700X/9600X to save some money as well.  If you're good spending $2000... get the 9800X3D.

750W psu for that gpu is pushing the limits. I would look for a ATX 3.1 850W+ psu not only for the headroom but for the power adapter for these RTX 40XX / 50XX cards. This board down below gives you more PCIe lanes for your SSD's.

ok thanks i think the new cards should fit in my current case to but ill have to do some measuring for that i suppose

ill have to look in the AIO box for the bracket.

just for information what would i lose from not using the 9800X3D?

also for the GPU does it matter which brand?

If you are comfortable at the top end of the budget consider an 850W PSU to power an RTX 5080.

I would ditch the AIO replacing it with a tower cooler. One could go with a tower like the Deepcool AK620 Digital if its display appeals.

Consider also exchanging the fixed color RGB fans with A-RGB fans.
