Is the Task Jacket a good rain jacket?

Title.  Such as, how water resistant is it?  Like does the water soak into it really hard or mostly roll off?

Being water-resistant is not mentioned anywhere in the product description, unlike with Bomber jacket. So safe to assume that it's more of the kind of "will get wet, but takes time to soak through".

I'm assuming the jacket is probably waxable.

There are other brands of waxes and clothing, but I'm only personally familiar with Fjallraven.

i got the 3D down jacket which was great however the hood SUCKED. its like it was made for those that were hats or helmets it was far 2 big

Usually jacket is what you wear outside, so fitting cap or beanie under the hood would be preferred. Rather than hoodie you usually wear as is.

I don't have the 3D Jacket, but a lot of Arc'teryx's jackets  (also Canadian brand) have oversized hoods meant for rock climbing helmets, or they're meant to be storm hoods when they project further forward so that rain doesn't hit your face.
