Hello guys, im about to buy an  xfx rx9070xt. I saw that the it needs an 800+ watt psu. I currently have a be quiet Pure Power 12 M 750w psu, and i want to know if I'll have problems running it. My cpu is a r7 7700x.

you may get away with it in the short term but defentily at the next point u can upgrade that psu the power darw of that combo is around 500 watts but that isnt including things like ram rgb mobo fans ext

You will 100% be fine. That card will not pull anywhere near the power to max out a qualtiy 750 watt PSU that you have combined with a 7700X

You're good, your PC don't need more than 600W and the BQ PSUs are well made

I'm running a 7950X3D and 7900XTX with a lot of additional stuff (4 drives, AIO, 7 fans...) on a RM850x, max draw from the wall is around 600W and I never had any issue

Brands always recommend overspec PSU because some PSU are crap and don't reach their specs or crash on spikes

That will work nicely. Amd overspecs the min spec needed as a lot of people run quite bad psu's. Your's is the opposite and a good quality unit!

Am i safe thoo? I read that if something happens (lets say a spike in power) it can burn stuff.

It's fine the pure power is overbuilt. Even with spikes it's WELL within the limit of the psu. it's also not like nvidia messing up the 12vpwr connector and uses old reliable 8 pins.

At worst an extreme spike (like >1000W) will just shut off the system, through OCP safeguard
