Page 24 of the manual specifically says you can't use an m.2 SATA drive

Hi everyone i recently upgraded to AM5 and specifically to an x870 gaming wifi6, and noticed that my M.2 SATA SSD does not get recognized or work with this motherboard. is there a specific setting i need to turn on in the bios (currently on bios version F3) or a specific M.2 slot i need to use. i have tried the slots M2A_CPU, M2B_SB and M2C_SB. but none of these seems to work. I know that my M.2 SATA SSD is functional since i have used it on a previous build, witch was a intel platform more specifically Z390 Motherboard. Thanks for the help in advance.

Just now, Edvin Stenius said:

no it does not, only see my hdd and boot drive, but not the ssd in question

just to make sure you have everything wired correctly, power from the psu and a sata data cable from the ssd to the motherboard.

it is an m.2 SSD so no power or data cables needed

do you have your old build to test it in to make sure it still works?

Does the SSD appear in disk management?

no, i don't have it anymore. but the drive worked like 5min before swapping it to the new build

see if you can find the m.2settings in your bios. it should be in the storage section.

somewhere i saw mentioned that you have to manually enable sata ssd:s form like pcie setting but found nothing that matches. nor in the sata settings witch i believe has nothing to do with m.2 sata ssd:s. and i have sent gigabyte an ticket about this but no answer yet from them
