I currently use Kubuntu 24.04 LTS (on one drive) and Windows 11 (on another) with AMD RX 550. I intend to buy RTX 3090, and I wonder: will I need to reinstall OS (both or any of them) or I'm fine? I did not download any drivers manually for AMD, only those which was installed automatically by Kubuntu and Windows during installation.

So youve been on basic driver for a while then. For Windows i would take the time to double check Windows Update havent fetched a driver automatically via DDU.

For Linux it shouldnt have done anything beyond basic driver so you can just drop in Nouveau or Nvidia driver straight on and leave.
