We recently got new BT Fiber to the door 500mpbs. I moved offices and my powerline was getting at least 50mbps before when we got 50mbps but now its getting around 30mbps. I came to the conclusion the ports on them capped.

Either way, when it works the speeds are really solid but I just get really bad ping and speeds up in my room as im on 2.4ghz.

Any idea on how to get 5ghz and fast speeds (close to the 500mbps I should be getting) without running any ethernet or fiber cables?

Higher bands like 5 Ghz has lower range and penetration power. So either you have to run Ethernet and place and AP closer to where you need the signal to be. OR you could look at a Mesh system. Just bear in mind that Mesh systems are not perfect solutions. I would like to state while you might get better speeds as far as Ping goes thats just how it is on WiFi. If you need stable pings you need a wire.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Thanks, I have had a look and seen that the Deko4 by TP-LINK has good ratings, would you recommend that or any other kind of mesh system?

Im able to cover my house with one router. So I really haven't worked with many mesh systems. My sister has the first generation of the Google Mesh systems and it's very simplified. I dont like it because you cant dig in to the settings. I have very limited experience with TP Link, but it was a good experience. Honestly if the ratings are good and the price is right that might be the way to go.

Yeah, ive used the google mesh system before and I had no customisation over dual band networks. Heres the system, it has good reviews and I have hard good things so I might get it: https://amzn.eu/d/cu7XOvv - Not sure if 2 meshes will be enough though and idk if you can buy more

Wiring differences.

I bet if you were to hook it up again in the same outlet to the same PC, speeds would be even better.  You could even test with a long extension cord if it is in the same building.

Try a different outlet, and don't plug into a surge protector, which causes more interference.  You could try a nearby outlet in a hallway and use a slightly longer Ethernet cable for testing different areas.

Windows 11 will just force business to "recycle" "obscolete" hardware.  Microsoft definitely isn't bothered by this at all, and seems to want hardware produced just a few years ago to be considered obsolete.  They have also not shown any interest nor has any other company in a similar financial position, to help increase tech recycling whatsoever.  Windows 12 might be cloud-based and be a monthly or yearly fee.

F-droid is a place to install open-source software for android, Antennapod, RethinkDNS, Fennec which is Firefox with about:config, lots of performance and other changes available, mozilla KB has a huge database of what most of the settings do.  Most software in the repository only requires Android 5 and 6!

I recommend firewall apps (blocks apps) and dns filters (redirect all dns requests on android, to your choice of dns, even if overridden).  RethinkDNS is my pick and I set it to use pi-hole, installed inside Ubuntu/Debian, which is inside Virtualbox, until I go to a website, nothing at all connects to any other server.  I also use NextDNS.io to do the same when away from home wi-fi or even cellular!  I can even tether from cellular to any device sharing via wi-fi, and block anything with dns set to NextDNS, regardless if the device allows changing dns.  This style of network filtration is being overridden by software updates on some devices, forcing a backup dns provuder, such as google dns, when built in dns requests are not connecting.  Without a complete firewall setup, dns redirection itself is no longer always effective.
