A single 770 won't run Watch_Dogs maxed out on Ultra settings at 60fps. I have two of the 4GB versions and I still barely get 60fps. Maybe if they have a good enough patch to fix performance issues, then you could consider upgrading.

Then again, you're going from a 660 to a 770, while it is a little bit of a performance gain, your money could be saved up over time and get an even better card when the 800-series cards release next year. Or save a little more and get a 780 or 780ti.

I personally wouldn't get a 770 if I had a 660 just to upgrade unless I could sell the 660 and get a little money back.

i upgraded just recently from a 760 to a 770 despite already maxing out most games and i feel like it was worth it. i got watch dogs out of it and after selling the 760 it was a pretty cheap upgrade. i feel it will be beneficial over the next year.

I can get something like 1/3 of the original price back if i sell it.

What CPU do you have? Anyways, go for it if you won't play WD because it's not worth it imo, terrible game..

i7 3770k

Thing is, I also want to be ready for FC4. Maybe I'll save up untill I can afford a 780 or 780ti.

770 over 780 if you get it for 300$ or under. 780's are cheep. 400$ for a stock cooled 780, 450$ for one with a waterblock compared to 770's prices. I guess it because 780 is popular for some reason. But if you want to max everything out, wait until the end of the year. New GPUs coming out and black Friday and things, so 700 series will be cheaper, new 800 series, and I bet 800 series will blow out 700 series. But I'm good at waiting a log time. Don't now about you.

I'm currently on SLI 770s and can hardly get a decent fps on that game. Its more the game than anybodys spec at this moment in time. When I had a single 770 I could run BF3 and 4 at around 80-100 fps with no hiccups. If you're thinking about waiting for the 800 series, if its anything like the 600-700 series jump, then you'd be better off getting a 770 now, and then another when your machine starts to struggle to hit the fps you want.

I could keep waiting and waiting, but it is like with every other piece of technology, when you buy something, there's something better coming out in the next month or 2.

True. I'm running a 1440P monitor with a 780, and don't get the frames I would like in a lot of modern games. Don't want to throw another 450 at a second 780, but I just need something meant to handle 2K or 4K without even trying. I'm bound to just get more higher res monitors, but the GPUs keep making me wait. Half a year to me is not much to wait for a 800 series launch. I just hope low end cards have like 4gb and high end have 6-8gb. A standard of like 3,000, - 5,000 cuda cores. We honestly need more to handle modern games at high res.

If you stay 1080P ten all will be fine in the gaming world, but I can't do the work I do with that little screen space to work with, plus 2K or 4K just looks great for gaming.

I can go on such a long rant, but I think you get my point, and I get yours. I buy a 780, 780TI comes out, after that the K|ngP|n came out, then titan black, then titan Z..... It's all the same card just with a better factor setting.. But that's why im hoping for the 800 series to be a redemption. And it's not easy to save 500-600$ the way I spend it.

Yeah, you can get a lot more space in work applications too, which is also a hobby of mine.

That guy is running 4K at an average of 45 fps tho, pretty sure it would be a stable 60 fps on medium-high settings, which I could live with if I had 4K. But definitely tempting to wait for the 800 series. Any rumors on perfomance and price?

not really. But looking from 600 series to 700 they don't have anywhere to go but up. More cuda cores, more DRAM, more power efficient, bigger bus speeds. IT seems like 800 series will be the best for 2K, and maybe 4K. an they always go on a cycle, so if everything is right the release should be around christmas, which means I should have enoughf to get 2 of the high end cards and SLI them! :)

that's why I like to wait. Also why I think it's a bit late to start putting money into the 700 series. But 800 series might be delayed, anything could happen. I just hope it releases on time!

That's strange... My Asus MARS, which is basically 2x GTX760 performs extremely well in Watch Dogs. I play it on the High preset 1080p, 4xMSAA and my FPS barely dips below 70-75 FPS.

PS: I have installed the RELOADED release with the hotfix, I wanted to try the game first before actually spending money on it.

Well I don't know what 'hotfix' the pirated version has or what it did, but the official version did not receive any fixes as of yet. My game goes below 50fps at times on Ultra settings at MSAAx4. I'd like to use MSAAx8 but I get even less FPS, though I have sufficient VRAM. The only time I get a consistent FPS is during the night when there's not a whole lot of traffic around me.
