Are the new features on z97 (sata express) powered by the chipset or the haswell refresh CPUs.

 

 

z97 chipsets provide 4x pcie bandwidth for sata express or m.2.

 

this 4x pcie bandwidth is provided strictly by the z97 chipset not the cpu.

Are the new features on z97 (sata express) powered by the chipset or the haswell refresh CPUs.

My System Specs: (Short list) i7 4770k, GTX 780, many SSD's, a 2 TB HDD(deceased :( ), Corsair 650D. Full list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kchriz6097/saved/8dh7YJ

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

Thanks, I want to get the Asus z97 WS board since it looks better.
