Have been using a smartphone from 2018 - Xiaomi Mi Max 2 with no complaints, even battery is decent but still planning to buy a new phone in 2025.

One that caught my eye is Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 4. Are there any better options? Though Turbo 4 has no availability here and there are not many reviews, the specs seem very good for the price, to me. Assuming the price is under 400€.

So - any other recommendations?

Nice suggestions, checked both of their specs and Nothing Phone 2a seems a contender.

But what specifically makes the Chinese-made Redmi Turbo 4 suspicious/undesirable? Because it's specs seem a bit better than 2a-s.

Turbo 4 is available in here for less than $300(Chinese stuff tends to be really cheap in Asia)

iirc turbo 4 is the chinese version of poco x7. It's pretty great specs wise, but it doesn't have Google services(can be installed manually) and certain apps won't or is not optimized.

Well, if you know what you're doing, it's a good deal.

That might be an issue, I have only basic skills needed for using a smartphone. But thanks for the input! Specs I can understand though.

My rec is an S24+

You can probably find one used on ebay for about that much.  This is how I buy all of my phones.   Never go midrange.  You must strive for premium.   Nothing beats a sammy literally.   You will have a 2k-ish?  oled display that is 120hz.   Once you have something this nice is hard to go back to the midrange

In order to buy a used phone e successfully, try to find one that's boxed and includes most original accessories.  The condition should be listed as "excellent".   The sellers score should be 99 or 100% positive with many sales.    I'm unsure which model you need where you live but innthe USA we have different carriers.  I need to buy a used phone for the specific carrier that I have.   I will avoid buying phones which are stated to be "unlocked" as it might not get along with the updates from my specific carrier. I have T-mobile.

Anyway, for you perhaps the international phone would work depending on the country where you live.   You'll need to figure those deets out before deciding to buy a used phone.  Goodluck!

Now they released Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 4 Pro

Even better battery (7550 mAh) etc. https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_redmi_turbo_4_pro-13617.php

16GB/1TB version seems like quite high end product? Perhaps not the cameras, but still tempting.
