Depending on what you'll play and what resolution you could just get a 7600x and a 7800xt tho

I'd swap the 9600x for a 7700, but otherwise this is a pretty good combo, yeah.

What about a 7700X and a a 7700XT? I can also think of a new + used combo of 9600X with a 6950XT or if going new 7700XT and want to stay new the new 9070... XT?

The 7700x is simply "a more expensive 7700, for no real benefit". Which is to say, unless you somehow find it for cheaper, you shouldn't buy it. Save that cash and use it to buy a bowl of ice cream, it'll bring you more benefit than seeing an "X" on the box.

As for the 6950xt, I wouldn't get that card, I'd avoid the AMD 6xxx series at this point.
