I'm looking to upgrade my CPU from the 5700X3D and am torn between the 7800X3D and the 9950X. I game a lot at 4K with a 3090 Ti and also do video editing, 3D modeling, and rendering. I’m looking for the best balance of performance for both gaming and productivity—any advice?

For 4k gaming pointless upgrade.

3d modelling same not cpu intensive at all normally.

3d rendering should normally be done on the gpu as its many many times faster. Sonif not set up yet that way look into it. Its almost real time rendering with nvidia rtx cards.

Frankly, this sounds like a job for the 9900x3D. Wait for reviews to come out, it might just be your CPU of choice.
