Is this PS5 noise normal?

it’s a brand new ps5. Just noticed this only after playing on mute sound after a few days and I wonder if the little whirring is normal. It sounds like the fan, but it’s kind of a weird sound.

Sounds like slight coil whine which is normal.

Yep, sounds like typical coil whine. If you pay attention, I'm sure you'll notice it change pitch as things on screen change and it'll probably go away if nothing 3D is being rendered. My PS5 whines a fair amount. In Gran Turismo 7, you can it hear it change pitch as you go through menus and stuff. When you select something that causes the screen to go blank for a second, the whine goes away until it starts rendering something again.

 

It's normal and could potentially go away. I had a PS4 Pro that had coil whine when new and it went away after a while. My PS5, though, started off quiet and developed coil whine 2 years later... or maybe it always had it and took me 2 years to notice.
