Hey, so I need a way to locally back up my storage and I was thinking a 2 bay NAS should be good for it, so I will have 2 x 3 TB WD Red's running it.

My question is which way these NAS are good as I have little knowledge about them or you can recommend any other ones as well in that price range ? Also would it really be cheaper to build one than buyin one of these ?

I was in your position with purchasing a NAS.

I would stay away from QNAP, although depending on which NAS you purchased they have better hardware, compared to Synology. Though the software of Synology is atleast 5 times better, both in the control panel and Phone/tablet apps).

https://www.synology.com/en-us/products/dsm_livedemo (Synology Live DEMO)

Both have a live demo you can see if you want.

I ended up purchasing a 5 bay DS1513+.

I recommend this NAS with your budget. http://www.ncix.com/detail/synology-ds214se-disk-station-2-f9-92184-1016.htm

If you are really on a tight budget. I will recommend you using Dlink DNS-320L. It is selling for $99 SGD in my country, Although there are not many features compared to the other NAS will a higher price tag.
