FX-8350 and 760G chipset

Hey guys.

I have two mobos- Gigabyte 990XA UD3 and ASUS M5A78L-M.

Both support AMD FX-8350. Both new.

So here is me problem.

Seems like Gigabyte mobo doesn't support my RAM(AMD 2 sticks 4Gb 1600MHz) so whole system just doesn't starts.

ASUS works with this RAM just fine, but I'm afraid that 760G chipset is just too old for FX-8350 although it's listed on CPU support list...

My question is should I get another RAM and use Gigabyte mobo or ASUS mobo will be just fine?

BTW sorry for my english...

I wonder why the gigabyte won't support that ram??? it should... have you tried running it in different slots or anything? maybe an RMA on the ram or mobo?

Gigabyte worked with one stick, once... I thought it's broken or something, but I brought both sticks to the local service center and after examination they said both sticks are ok.

You arranged it in dual channel right?

you put the ram into the according colors, not neccesarily next to each otherdual_channel_ddr2.jpgoin this case you could put it into both greens.

That unheatsinked and what looks like only 4+1 VRM is probably going to overheat like crazy

Of course, both sticks into the same color clots. No post screen.

Well, ASUS claims that FX-8350 is supported and I'm not going to overclock it, so... I don't know... I doubt that mobo will live for a long time with this processor because of heat.

Service center tested both mobo(gigabyte) and RAM, everything is fine so no refunds...

With your RAM?

I'd just swap the RAM and sell the ASUS.

They tested infront of me mobo with my RAM. One stick was fine, other one wasn't.

Unfortunately both mobo and RAM are ok so I can't swap them...

And i don't think that anybody will buy ASUS

I find it strange that they tested it in front of you with both sticks in and it failed, but because it works with one stick they won't help you out.

I woulda raised the god damn roof until I either had my money, or another mobo.

Well, I will try to do something about this all.

Nothing like that, gigabyte has very short compatible memory list(AMD not listed on it) and amd has nothing like that at all.
