Capped integrated intel GPU

Go to solution Solved by Needfuldoer,

It should take up to 2 GB as VRAM, according to the spec sheet

Rummage around in your BIOS to see if there's somewhere to cap it.

I'm assuming you have the latest/last Intel graphics driver package installed?

I sent my GPU to get thermal pads switched so im sitting on my integrated GPU for now

CPU: i7 4790
Motherboard: very old one
PSU: 600W
Ram: 16gb DDR3

It seems my dedicated GPU memory is capped at 576 and for some reason it wont go up, this same issue happened when i had 8gb of ram, does anybody have an idea why is that?

I had an i5 4570 and the RAM allocated to integrated graphics went from 4 to 256 MB selectable in the BIOS.

Frankly, 256 MB was more than enough for the capabilities of that iGPU since it does not have all the capabilities of full fledged GPUs and it was also before ray-tracing became a thing.

I believe the setting is to pre-allocate memory, though the iGPU should be capable of using more when demanded. Does the game you’re trying to play on it work?

My eyes see the past…

My camera lens sees the present…
