So I'm building my first Performance PC for Gaming over the next months. I will also be doing other things such as video editing & rendering.

I'm planning to overclock the system and since I have no idea about cooling I'm wondering what the best cooling options will be for the CPU? (Rather than the stock cooler) Or any extras that will make the system run smoothly.

MOBO: Asus Maximus VI Hero C2 Motherboard
CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K Processor
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX780 Superclocked 3GB GDDR5 Graphics Card
PSU: Corsair AX1200i 80 PLUS Platinum PSU
MEMORY: Kingston Beast Series 32GB DDR3 Memory
CASE: Corsair Obsidian Series 750D ATX Performance Case

The Corsair H105/110 are great options and you can mount the rad on the top of your case. It'll keep your CPU quite cool, maybe 70C at 4.7 GHz.

need your budget so we can help but the AX 1200i is wayyyyyy too overkill for any build (unless you are watercooling and even then in a handful of cases (lol I said "cases"!! hahahhahaha okay I'll stop)).

You also don't need 32GB of RAM. 8GB is more than enough for gaming and if you get 2 sticks of 4GB each, you can upgrade to 16GB later.

The Corsair H100i or H110 are great coolers but I lean more towards the H100i since it has cool LED's :D

the h100i is just not enough for cooling , my 4930k at 4.6 reachs like 75 which is too hot

Don't know much about water cooling, but i heard that H100i is quite good (as long as you don't go overboard with OC'ing...)

Also, that PSU is WAY overkill, even if you're SLI'ing... Go with something like 850 80+Gold

the heatsinks are so ugly on the H220 and although the H105/H110 have an "okay" heat sink, they're not the best looking and the only difference between an H100i and a H110/H105 is a few degrees which I can live with. :P

Please learn this.

You can run 4,7Ghz on 1.25V if you are lucky or on 1.4V if you are unlucky. This will dramaticly change tempatures of the CPU.

Your statement is really something that will lure people in wrong corners. So please don't ever say this again.

if your video editing and rendering why not go 2011 ? and get like the 4930k or 4830k ? for more power or wait for devils canyon?

a little more than a few on average between the h100 and h105 their is normally about 5c average at least . which for a OC cpu is A lot. Looks are not everything performance of the cooler is more important

To each their own :P

I'm not going for that "extreme" overclock with 5.0 GHz at 1.4V or whatever it is because that is why lifespans of CPU's are significantly reduced. (Almost by half! :o) Maybe a slight OC is all I'm going for. The only reason I got an AIO is for silence and better temps and looks was an added bonus to the H100i.

If OP is going for one though, I would totally suggest an H220/Glacer 240L

I know someone with 4.7 GHz and 70C. Obviously he didn't bother telling me the voltages. I mean like in general.

Then yell at him for not giving you voltages. And don't quote him ever again. It's super bad information.

Okay. Should I beat him with a stick or beat him with my stick?

Your stick, if it's strong enough! :]

true that's why i activated turbo , so it never stays that high only when im doing stressy stuff
