The upcoming RXT 5080 is $1000 MSRP, but who knows if it will be possible for a regular customer to find them at that price.

Wait until the 5080 launches next week.

Pick up a used 4080.

I was originally thinking that just didn't know how big of a bump up it would be to go with the 5080 over the 4080. Like if it was worth it or not. I mainly want something that I know will last a few years before I replace stuff.

We dont know yet.  The 5080 hasn't launched or had any reviews and we definitely can't take Nvidia's word on it.

Review Embargo is next week 🙂

That's up to you dude. If you're a crybaby going "ugh why can't I do 4K Ultra 240fps?!?" then you'll never be happy.

I have an RTX 2080 Ti which launched September 2018 and I'm still happy with its performance. Sure, I can't do 4K Ultra/High on every game, but I am perfectly happy with 4K Medium/Good settings as long as I can hit a stable 120fps.
