I was adding a Hard Drive to my PC, and it was all plugged in, and now it doesn't work. There is an orange light on my Asus b550ma wifi 2, and I've reseated everything and tried to short the pins, but nothing is working. I've taken out the HDD too, but someone please help.

Seems to be simple machine with AMD stock cooler, 4 sticks of RAM and a Sapphire AMD GPU. I don't see why it suddenly won't boot.

Did you try clearing the CMOS memory ?

I think the orange light is the DRAM light, so you should try booting with only one RAM stick and try it in a different slot until your computer boots.

As for the HDD, I don't think the problem is related. Probably just a coincidence that it happened at the same time.

Good luck !

Did you add the HDD while the desktop was running ? (which doesn't even sound so bad)

Does it boot ?

Maybe the system got confused which is the OS drive ?

No, it doesn't boot, nothing even spins. I added the HDD when it was turned off and unplugged.
